Changing room chat: Beckham would bend it all for bookies

DAVID BECKHAM is now odds-on (8/11) to be included in the Team GB Olympic Squad, according to Ladbrokes.

The bookies rate the home nations side as 8/1 shots to win gold and it is 12/1 they win every game before being crowned. Beckham is 20/1 to be the first player to score a GB Olympic goal and it’s also 8/1 that the home team win a silver medal next summer.

Hope Powell’s women’s side are 10/1 chances for a gold medal and optimistic patriots can take 100/1 about a famous men’s/women’s gold double.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Olympic football hasn’t been a big event for us historically but that looks set to change. The presence of Beckham will give turnover a further boost and we can safely say now a Team GB Gold will be a terrible result.”
