Celtic's injury woes mount as Ki Sung-Yueng picks up injury on debut

CELTIC'S new signing Ki Sung-Yueng faces weeks on the sidelines after suffering an injury on his debut against Falkirk.

The 20-year-old South Korean, who signed on a four-year deal last month, twisted his ankle during his side's 1 - 1 draw with Falkirk on Saturday which is expected to rule him out for the rest of January.

The news is a further blow to Celtic manager who has a host of players that are injured or unavailable.

Landry NGuemo is at the African Nations Cup, while Scott McDonald, Scott Brown and Shaun Maloney are long-term injury concerns.

Glenn Loovens is expected to recover from a stomach problem which ruled him out of Saturday's top versus bottom clash with Danny Fox out for a week with a groin injury.

Celtic defender Stephen McManus is also doubtful for Celtic's Scottish Cup tie on Tuesday against Morton after suffering a calf injury against Falkirk.
