Tommy Gemmell recovers in hospital after collapse

Celtic legend and Lisbon Lion Tommy Gemmell is recovering in hospital after collapsing in his Dunblane home.

The 71-year-old, was found unconscious by paramedics at the flat in Dunblane.

A close friend of the former Celtic star told the Sun: “He was out cold - they had to force open the door to get to him. He took a fall but he is Ok. It’s not life threatening.”

Doctors at Forth Valley Hospital have kept him in hospital for observation over the next few days. The former Celtic star, who has been plagued with health problems over the past few years, suffers from type 2 diabetes and problems with his circulation.
