Sky Sports pundit accuses Celtic players of 'giving up' prior to clash with Kilmarnock

James McFadden believes some of Celtic’s players have ‘given up’ after watching them lose to St Mirren.

The pundit stated this opinion on Sky Sports on Tuesday evening as Neil Lennon’s side travel to Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.

But with the league title, and ten-in-a-row, long gone, McFadden doubts there is enough motivation left in the camp to end this campaign on a high.

He said: “On Saturday it looked like a team who had given up, to me.

“The players on the pitch: there was no zip, they were hardly putting on any pressure, the goals that St Mirren scored were really poor defensively, and I think that it was the first time I watched them where it looked like some had given up.

“When they play at their best it’s high energy, lots of pressure, there was none of that.

“Full credit to St Mirren. They went there full of belief. But Celtic didn’t show that they could end this season well.”
