The latest happenings in Scottish football throughout Tuesday, January 5, 2021.

The row over Celtic’s trip to Dubai looks set to rumble on after the Scottish Government implemented new lockdown restrictions on the country.

The Hoops are due back from their break later this week ahead of a match with Hibs next Monday, but figures in authority have urged the SFA to investigate the trip – despite Celtic claiming they have done nothing wrong in travelling away.

Of course there is also the little matter of the January transfer window, which will see a flurry of links, gossip and speculation as well as activity across Scottish clubs, both in and out – and again Celtic are in the headlines as it will be Neil Lennon calling the shots after receiving backing from Peter Lawwell and Dermot Desmond to remain in post.

Motherwell are also making move in the transfer market despite losing manager Stephen Robinson last week, and they’re also looking to replace their manager at some point – though interim and assistant Keith Lasley has first-team affairs for the next three matches.

Hibs don’t have their problems to seek either and they will be making moves to alleviate their goalkeeping issues over the next week – will the next 24 hours see any developments? They have until Monday to deal with Ofir Marciano’s injury and Dillon Barnes return back to London with Queen’s Park Rangers.

There will be plenty more to come across the day and across the country in Scottish football.
