Cardiff increase Victor Wanyama bid

Cardiff have increased their £10m offer for Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama having agreed wages with the player’s agent. Southampton have already had a £12m bid accepted by the Parkhead side however the Kenyan was unable to agree personal terms. (Mail)

Rangers free Bocanegra and Goian

The Ibrox side say they have freed up £2m in wages by freeing Carlos Bocanegra and Dorin Goian and that

the money raised will go towards rebuilding Ally McCoist’s squad. Bocanegra is to join MLS side Chivas while Goian is looking for a move to England. (Sun)

Dundee United target Kris Boyd

Jackie MacNamara is in talks with former Rangers striker Kris Boyd about a move to Tannadice after his short-term deal with Kilmarnock came to an end. United are also looking to bring in Blackburn’s David Goodwillie on loan with ex-Liverpool defender Danny Wilson also on the club’s wanted list. (Sun)

Ross County deny Brittain pay-out

The Staggies have denied paying St Johnstone £40,000 in compensation so that Richie Brittain could remain at Dingwall. The Ross County captain agreed a deal with the Perth side but changed his mind citing personal reasons. (Various)

Scott Brown in fitness vow

Celtic captain Scott Brown says he is in contention for a starting spot against his side’s Champions League qualifier against Cliftonville on July 17 despite resting up for a month after suffering a groin injury. (Scotsman)

Doncaster and Longmuir in running for top SPFL job

The men in charge of the soon to be defunct SPL and SFL, Neil Doncaster and David Longmuir, will both be interviewed for the job of leader of the newly-formed SPFL.

The four divisions in the SPFL are likely to be rebranded as the Premiership, Championship, League One and League Two in the coming days when a title sponsor will also be sought. (Scotsman)

Hearts in season ticket sales boost

The Tynecastle club have sold half of the 3,000 more season books needed to ensure the club can survive into the new season.

The club, which has sold over 8,500 books, needs to hit the 10,000 mark say administrators if the £750,000 funding gap is to be met. (Scotsman)

John Sutton signs for Motherwell

The former Hearts striker quickly put pen to paper for the Fir Park side after being made redundant by the Tynecastle club.

Sutton rejoins Motherwell two years after leaving to join Hearts. The striker was paid off after refusing to join his teammates in taking a 50% pay cut. (Scotsman)
