In an interview with The Sun, Di Canio said: “This is a man who only last week was filmed spitting on the back of a rickshaw driver in London… What sort of role model is that?”

“I don’t like people who laugh when they keep missing the goal in training… You have to train as you want to play. It is called being professional.” (Sun)

Andrew Driver goes back to USA

FORMER Hearts winger Andrew Driver has rejoined MLS side Houston Dynamo.

Driver spent time on trial at Yeovil earlier this month after his contract at the US side expired late last year. He has reportedly signed a “multi-year” contract with the Dynamo.

The 26-year-old, who represented both Scotland and England at age-grade level, earned around £57,000 a year in his previous spell in the States. (Scotland on Sunday)

Rangers review ‘on track’

GRAHAM Wallace, the Rangers CEO, has told the club’s fans that his financial review is “on track”.

In Rangers’ matchday programme, Wallace wrote: “All departments of the club are being reviewed and the reporting of informal discussions, as opposed to final proposals, has to be seen in the light of the dialogue of which it is part.”

Those informal discussions included a call on the Rangers playing staff to accept a 15% pay cut - a proposal which was rejected last week. (Mail on Sunday)
