Doncaster makes SPFL case

New SPFL chief Neil Doncaster has insisted that the recently-created body will represent the interests of all clubs, including those in the lower divisions.

A number of teams had issue with Doncaster during the Rangers saga last summer and the league revamp itself, with some saying the merger was an SPL takeover. (Scotsman)

Cardiff back out of Wanyama bid

Victor Wanyama’s future has become even more clouded today after Cardiff City pulled out of talks with the Celtic star.

It is thought that Celtic refused to budge on several key negotiation matters in the £10m talks. (Daily Mail)

Rangers job cuts

Rangers will also be making a number of jobs cuts to backroom staff.

The club insists that the five or six redundancies are indications of fresh financial worries. (Daily Mail)

Hearts snub player offers

Hearts have snubbed offers for two first-team players, as well as rebuffing an enquiry for a third player, due to the cash raised by supporters of the stricken club.

Miko: Vlad’s ego to blame

Ex-Hearts star Saulious Mikoliunas has blamed the club’s troubles on Vladimir Romanov’s huge ego.

The Lithuanian player reckons that Vlad sacked George Burley as manager because the fans saw him as a hero instead of praising the owner. (Daily Express)

Johnston shares proof claims

Former Kilmarnock chairman Bill Costley says he can prove that current owner Michael Johnston wants around £2.5m for his shares.
