• Lee Mair may rejoin Dundee

The former Dark Blues defender is free to leave St Mirren and believed to be of interest to John Brown. Mair played for Dundee at the start of his career, but was dubbed a traitor by then-manager Jim Duffy after reportedly backing out of a proposed return to join city rivals United. (Record)

• Tony Watt in Belgium to discuss loan move

The teenage striker, who scored in Celtic’s famous win against Barcelona last season, is in Belgium to finalise a loan move to Leirse SK for the rest of the season. Aberdeen were thought to be in the running, but a club source told STV that “there was more chance of signing Tony Soprano”. (STV)

• Celtic ‘have Tomlin bid rejected’

Sky Sports News’ Dougie Keen reports that Celtic’s bid for Peterborough United winger Lee Tomlin has been rejected. (Twitter)

• ’Celtic in talks over Buttner’

Celtic are reportedly keen to make a loan move for Alexander Buttner, Manchester United’s Dutch under-21 international defender.

Buttner’s agent told STV: “Yes, Celtic would like to take the player on loan for the season.

“We feel it would greatly help the boy’s development to be playing regularly at that level and in European football. Celtic are a really great club.”

• Celtic sign Teemu Pukki

Celtic have signed Schalke 04 attacker Teemu Pukki on a four-year deal. The club confirmed the signing of the Finnish international on their Twitter account.

• Hibs bring in two new faces

Hibernian have made a double swoop on the eve of the transfer deadline by bringing in Kilmarnock striker Paul Heffernan and French winger Abdellah Zoubir.

Heffernan scored 27 goals in 61 appearances in two seasons at Kilmarnock, while 21-year-old Zoubir joins from Ligue 2 side FC Istres on loan(Scotsman)

• Fraser Forster ‘not for sale’

Neil Lennon has said that Celtic keeper Fraser Forster is not up for sale, after the goalie commented on interest from Benfica on the eve of the transfer deadline.

“Fraser’s not for sale,” said Lennon. “We have actually written a letter to one club, just warning them off basically. We’ve had no confirmed bids for Fraser. I think his head will be in the right place once the window shuts. He’s got a lot to look forward to but he’s not for sale.” (Scotsman)

McCoist: Bring back John Greig

Ally McCoist has added his voice to calls for Rangers legend John Greig to return to the club.

Greig is at the centre of the latest row at Ibrox, with Craig Mather launching an investigation into derogatory emails about Greig.

McCoist told the Record: “I’d love to see John back at the club. I’ve said all along that the John Greigs, Sandy Jardines and Walter Smiths – that’s the line right through the club for me.

“It makes our job a good bit easier as well when you have guys around who have lifted European trophies and played at the highest level domestically and internationally.

“When you have guys like John Greig, Sandy Jardine and Walter Smith walking about the corridors, it would have to be to the benefit of the club.” (Record)

Aberdeen’s Pawlett: ‘I’m no diver’

Dons winger Peter Pawlett insists he is not a diver – and that his “natural” way of falling is working against him.

Pawlett said: “I think I was unfortunate against Hearts. I think TV evidence clearly showed I was clipped. I think the way I go down doesn’t help the ref’s decision but that’s the natural way I go down. I’m not diving, I’ve done that ever since I was a kid.

“I know when people look at it, and I sometimes look at it and think: ‘What am I doing?’ But at the time it’s natural and I am not putting anything on.” (Scotsman)
