Ryan ­McGivern to leave Hibs for Port Vale

New Hibs manager Alan Stubbs has made his first major decision since taking over from Terry Butcher after allowing Ryan ­McGivern to leave for Port Vale.

The English League One outfit yesterday confirmed the signing – pending international clearance – of the Northern Ireland internationalist on a two-year deal, the 24-year-old becoming the 15th player to depart Easter Road this summer. (Scotsman)

Ryan Gauld to sign for Sporting Lisbon

Dundee United have accepted a £3 million bid from Sporting Lisbon for teenage midfielder Ryan Gauld.

And the 18-year-old is set to fly to Portugal for talks with the Portuguese giants.

United are not under huge pressure to sell right now, but felt unable to turn down that kind of money for a teenager. (Evening Telegraph)

Snodgrass signs for Hull for £7m

Hull have signed Scotland ­international Robert ­Snodgrass from Norwich.

The clubs agreed a fee for the 26-year-old on Thursday, understood to be a one-off payment of £7 million. (Scotsman)

Crabbies to sponsor Hibs stand

Hibs have launched a heritage partnership with Crabbie’s, in a deal that will see the drinks firm named as sponsors of the Famous Five stand.

Crabbie’s - who spent three years as the club’s main sponsor - have signed up for a further three years, during which time the Crabbie’s Museum, highlighting historical links between the brand, Hibs and Leith itself, will be set up.

Kilmarnock complete signing of Paul Cairney

Kilmarnock have completed the signing of midfielder Paul Cairney on a two-year deal.

The former Partick Thistle and Queen’s Park star was one of a number of players released by Hibs earlier this summer following the club’s relegation to the Championship.

But the 26-year-old has clinched another deal in the top flight after putting pen-to-paper with Allan Johnston’s side. (Evening Times)

Dundee resign Gary Harkins

After agreeing at the end of last week to have his contract at St Mirren terminated, the 29-year-old signed up for a third spell at Dens Park.

That brought manager Paul Hartley’s extensive summer signing programme nearer to its conclusion. He is still in the market for at least one, possibly two, defenders.

Celtic give trial to Benfica forward

Celtic have handed a trial to young Benfica forward Sancidino Silva.

The 20-year-old Guinea-Bissau international is currently out of contract at the Stadium of Light and keen to move on.

He has been training with the Parkhead youth squad in Glasgow as the Scottish champions weigh up a move amid rival interest from Olympiakos and Besiktas. (Mail)

Hibs have been linked with a move for former Motherwell striker Henrik Ojamaa who currently plies his trade for Polish outfit Legia Warsaw having joined last summer after spending 18 months in Lanarkshire.

The 23 year old had a successful spell at Fir Park prior to earning a £300,000 move to his current side but has found goals hard to come by for Legia, netting only twice in 32 league appearances. (Various)

Nir Biton vows to make up for Champions League red card

The Israeli has vowed to deliver for Celtic in the Champions League after last season’s red card shame.

The Israeli midfielder had been on the field for just 10 minutes as a substitute when he was sent off for a rash challenge on Ajax opponent Thulani Serero.
