Hibs reject Abramovich buyout claims

A REPORT in a Spanish newspaper at the weekend linked Roman Abramovich to a possible buyout of Hibernian.

The Russian billionaire has been rumoured to be interested in buying shares in a number of clubs, including Spanish club Real Mallorca, Corinthians in Brazil, Israel’s Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hibs. 
However a source at the club has rejected these claims as “absolute nonsense” going on to say; “There have been a number of stories going around but there is nothing in any of them”.

Ronny Deila two good to ignore

FORMER Stromsgodset assistant, David Nielsen has revealed that Ronny Deila got the job after blowing away the Celtic board in his interview.

Originally Deila as pencilled in as a No 2 to either Roy Kean or Neil Lennon but his performance in the interview immediately bumped him up to Celtic Park No 1.

Nielsen said: “When he went in to the meeting and came out again, there was no more talk of him being the assistant manager”.

“He blew them away. The board knew that wasn’t an option anymore - he was their man.”

Napoli pass on Samaras

ITALIAN side Napoli are not planning to sign Georgios Samaras, according to Sky Italia.

The Greek international, who will be playing in the World Cup, was offered to the Serie A side as a Bosman signing, but the Coppa Italia winners knocked back the offer. (Inside Futbol)

Ronny wants to make Virgil a star

CELTIC boss Ronny Deila has made a plea to star defender Virgil van Dijk to trust him with his career. Arsenal and Manchester City have been monitoring van Dijk’s progress since his breakthrough at Parkhead, But new boss Deila has vowed to convince the star to stay.

“I can develop Van Dijk here. That’s what I’ve done at Stromsgodset and that’s what I’ll do now”

Gordon close to signing for Celtic

FORMER Hearts keeper Craig Gordon is close to making a come back to football by signing for Celtic.

This news comes despite rumours that new boss Ronny Delia is weighing up a move for his skipper in Stromsgodset, Ghanaian goalie Adam Larsen Kwarasey.
