Raoul Loe Celtic speculation mounts

Celtic are considering a £2m bid for Osasuna’s Raoul Loe due to fears that his value could rocket if he has a successful World Cup, reports the Express.

However the Sun says the Parkhead club have dismissed reports that they are set to move for the Spain-based defensive midfielder .

Dundee and Everton in talks over link up

The Dens Park club are holding talks with Everton about a link up that could see them become Everton’s Scottish feeder club.

The move would see the Dundee side take player’s from Everton’s new youth academy with the Premiership side also keen to take in and nurture young players. (Sun)

Salmond comes to Hearts’ aid

First Minister of Scotland, and devout Hearts fan, has contacted the Lithuanian ambassador to the UK in a bid to help the club complete their move out of administration.

Hearts administrator Bryan Jackson is still awaiting a return invite to the Baltic state to hold further talks.

The Tynecastle club have agreed the transfer of former owner’s Vladimir Romanov’s share in the club but are still negotiating a security over the stadium. (Scotsman)

Kris Commons a shoo-in for Players’ award

Celtic striker Anthony Stokes says team mate Kris Commons is the front runner for the Players’ Player of the Year Award following last season where none of the Parkhead club’s players made it onto the shortlist.

Forster also believes keeper Fraser Forster and defender Virgil Van Dijk are also in with a shout. (Scotsman)

• Stokes also said that he believes Scottish football as a whole would benefit from Rangers’ return to the top tier of Scottish football.

Lambert has two assistants suspended

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert have suspended two of his backroom staff for “disciplinary”.

Assistant manager Ian Culverhouse and head of football operations Gary Karsa are now subject to an internal investigation. (Scotsman)

Celtic set for Champions League seeding

Neil Lennon’s side will almost certainly be seeded in all three Champions League qualifiers next season.

Celtic will have to negotiate the second and third qualifying rounds as well as a play-off. (Scotsman)

McNamara cup final ban would be “ridiculous”

Dundee United coach Darren Jackson says it would be “ridiculous” is boss Jackie McNamara is banned from the dugout for the upcoming Scottish Cup final against St Johnstone.

McNamara is awaiting the outcome from the SFA after contesting a three match ban he landed for a touchline altercation with St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright. (Express)
