Warburton plans Dallas swoop

MARK Warburton is planning a summer swoop for Brentford midfielder Stuart Dallas - who could cost Rangers £1.5 million.

The Northern Irish midfielder has two years left on his Bees contract, and scored eight goals in 44 appearances last season.

However, it is thought that the seven-figure price tag will not put Rangers off, as Dave King has already pledged to splash the cash in order to ensure the Gers win the Championship. (The Sun)

Mawson could follow Warburton north

RANGERS could also add Brentford defender Alfie Mawson to their shopping list, with a need to bolster the backline following the departure of a number of defenders.

21-year-old Mawson spent last season on loan at Wycombe, but is out of contract this summer and is thought to have rejected a new deal at Griffin Park. (The Sun)

Ian Black nears MK Dons switch

IAN Black could be heading south when he becomes a free agent later this month, with MK Dons said to be leading the chase for the ex-Hearts and Inverness midfielder.

But the Dons could face competition from fellow League 1 outfit Preston North End.

Celtic eye St Pauli star Halstenberg

CELTIC are lining up a move for St Pauli left-back Marcel Halstenberg, according to reports.

The 23-year-old defender has been on Ronny Deila’s radar for some time, with Celtic ready to pay cash to secure his services this summer.

But the Hoops face competition from Halstenberg’s former club Hannover, who are keen to bring their former youth player back to the Niedersachsenstadion. (Daily Express)

Wolves to battle Celtic for Joan Oriol

CELTIC face competition from Wolves for Spanish full-back Joan Oriol, who is a free agent after leaving Rapid Bucharest.

The former Blackpool defender, who had spells with Villarreal and Osasuna earlier in his career, is thought to be a target for a number of English clubs.

Scott Allan ‘vital’ for Hibs - Wright

FINDING a way to keep hold of Scott Allan should be a priority for Hibs according to former striker Keith Wright.

The 1991 League Cup final goalscorer said that the midfielder was key to the team’s best performances last term and wants him to see through the job of getting the Leith club back up to the Premiership.

“He was probably the main man that made them tick. He’s definitely a top player,” said Wright. (The Scotsman)

Scott Robertson exits Hibs

SCOTT Robertson is leaving the club after two years after reluctantly knocking back a new deal.

The midfielder’s contract expired at the end of the season and he will not be signing a new one.

Robertson had hoped to remain with the Edinburgh club and provisional talks were held towards the end of last season in which the midfielder was told the club wanted to keep him on slightly reduced terms to his original deal.

However, following the team’s failure to win promotion to the Premiership, the offer was then reduced further, prompting Robertson to reluctantly decide he would have to move on.

Robertson is currently weighing up his options, with a return to England or the Scottish Premiership among his possibilities. (Evening News)
