Ahmad to ask court to hold Rangers cash

FORMER Rangers director Imran Ahmad will today ask a judge to seize £750,000 from the club’s funds as his legal battle over unpaid bonuses continues.

Ahmad, Rangers’ former financial director, claims he is owed £500,000 from agreements made during Charles Green’s tenure at the club.

Ahmad’s lawyers are set to argue that Rangers would be unable to pay if he won his claim, so the money he could win must be held in case of that eventuality. (BBC)

Pukki and Balde to stay at Celtic

TEEMU Pukki and Amido Balde will be given the chance to prove themselves at Celtic after Neil Lennon kicked out loan moves for both players last month.

Lennon said: ‘There was plenty of interest in both of them, but we wanted to keep them here. They will play more of a part between now and the end of the season.”

Balde teed up Pukki to score Celtic’s second goal in the 2-0 win over Hearts on Saturday and the Finnish striker could start against Aberdeen in Pittodrie tonight. (Daily Mail)

Euro 2016: Georgia and Scots ‘to battle for third’

TEMURI Ketsbaia believes his Georgia side will fight it out for third spot in their Euro 2016 qualifying group.

Former Dundee midfielder Ketsbaia, now the Georgian manager, reckons that Germany and Poland will take up the top two spots.

He said: “Germany are strong favourites and I can accept that. I think we will end up fighting Scotland for third place… the Scots are improving but I think we can get to the play-offs.” (Record)

Wallace - Dave King back in Rangers frame

RANGERS CEO Graham Wallace has confirmed that Dave King has held fresh discussions with the club’s board over a possible investment.

Wallace said: “(King) has intimated to Rangers he would be willing to participate as an investor, if and when we decide to do further equity raising.

“Dave has made no offers or suggestions to us other than that.” Rangers agreed £1.5m in loans with Sandy Easdale and Laxey Partners yesterday. (Sun)

Stokes wants Ireland goal at Parkhead

CELTIC striker Anthony Stokes believes that scoring for the Republic of Ireland at Celtic Park against Scotland would be a career highlight.

Stokes said: “I want to do as well as I possibly can when I get the chance with Ireland… Of course, scoring at Parkhead for the Republic would be bigger.

“There will be two special nights against Scotland - but it’ll be one of the few nights I’ll want to put one over on the Scots.” (Sun)

Adams expects Goodwin to face SFA rap

ROSS County boss Derek Adams says he expects SFA compliance officer Vincent Lunny to take action against St Mirren captain Jim Goodwin in the wake of last weekend’s game in Dingwall.

Adams was furious after Goodwin appeared to catch Filip Kiss with his forearm and clashed heads with Melvin De Leeuw during the match, which ended in a 2-1 win for the home side.

Adams said: “Obviously there were problems on the pitch that I’m sure Vincent Lunny will deal with. There were two challenges that I feel could have been avoided.” (Mail)
