Michael Moffat ‘hammered’ by SFA on betting

THE six-match ban given to Ayr’s Michael Moffat for betting is unfair given the punishment meted out to Rangers’ Ian Black for backing against his own team, according to Ayr chairman Lachlan Cameron.

Cameron said: “Taking the Black case into consideration, what’s the more serious offence? Just because Ian Black got off lightly, they’re now laying the hammer down on Michael Moffat.”

GOALS |

This weekend we had two contenders for Goal of the Month, if not Goal of the Season. Willo Flood’s strike from 25 yards against Hibernian for Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Friday night and Stevie May’s lovely curling effort against St Mirren on Saturday at McDiarmid Park.

BIZARRE |

Both bizarre incidents come from recent Inverness CT home matches. The first occurred in their match against Celtic a few weeks ago, when Ross Draper took out the referee in his pursuit of the ball. The second incident was in yesterday’s match against Dundee United, when Inverness’ goalkeeper Dean Brill nearly concedes a comical own goal.
