Baker’s dungarees worried fans

A new book has revealed how Hibs legend Joe Baker worried fans after he was spotted rushing to face Barcelona in his work dungarees.

Tom Maxwell’s The Fabulous Baker Boys tells how Baker was running late after a shift at the engineering job he worked, and turned up for the clash in February 1961 in dungarees. (Scotsman)

Rangers rebels in board changes call

Rebel Rangers investors have written a letter to the board have cited a lack of transparency for their proposed leadership change.

The group want to see the return of former chairman Malcolm Murray, and will look to gain support for the move at the AGM later this month. (Various)

Locke stays positive

Hearts boss Gary Locke has vowed not to let what he feels are bad refereeing decision affect his squad’s climb out of the relegation zone.

Anderson’s injury agony

St Johnstone’s Steven Anderson has said the dislocated thumb he injured against Partick was the most pain he’s ever experienced.

After a several failed attempts by medics to pop it back in place, Anderson was sent to hospital in Dundee where surgeons had to open him up to fix the damage. As a result he now faces being out of action for two months. (Daily Record)

Van Dijk in DVD inspiration

Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk says he has been inspired to repeat last year’s Champions League heroics after watching a DVD of the Hoops’ win over Barcelona.

The Dutch defender says that the goals from Victor Wanyama and Tony Watt gave him goosebumps. (Scotsman)
