McCourt hope for Hibs fans

Hibs fans are in a flap over the prospect of signing ex-Celtic star Paddy McCourt, after it was revealed that he had been training with the Easter Road club.

Hibs are in need of a lift after a bad start to the season, and McCourt played his last game for Celtic in the Scottish Cup Final win over Pat Fenlon’s men. (Scotsman)

Green tells McColl to show him the money

As the Rangers in-fighting rages on, Charles Green has told billionaire Jim McColl to put up or shut up, demanding he put money on the table if he wants any say in the club’s direction.

McColl says he has no interest in a takeover, but former oldco director Paul Murray and Scottish accountant Frank Blin, who is thought to be close to McColl, made a bid for power at the club. (Scotsman)

Brown wants derby reward for fans

Billy Brown has called on Hearts to reward the loyal fans who stuck by the club during the financial troubles, by dumping Edinburgh rivals Hibs in this season’s first derby.

Hearts fans have bought over 10,500 season tickets after a call from administrators to snap up over 10,000. (Various)

England short on demand

England are struggling to sell tickets for the Wembley clash with Scotland next week, with over 10,000 left, while Scots have already dived on the 20,000 allocated to them.

SFA hits back at Rangers

The SFA have responded to Rangers demands as to why Rangers were hit with a fine for going into administration, when Hearts and Dunfermline were not.
