Neil Lennon calls for January transfer cash

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has called on the Parkhead board to release funds to spend in January so that he can build a team capable of competing in the Champions League next season.

He says his side needs time to gel after watching his players lose 3 - 0 to AC Milan which saw them go out of the competition. (Record)

McColl’s role with Rangers rebels over

Jim McColl says his work as part of the rebel group looking to force its way onto the Rangers board is over.

The Clyde Blowers boss says new Ibrox chief executive Graham Wallace is of sufficient calibre to stop anyone seeking to drain money from the club.

He believes the pressure exerted by the group, led by former director Paul Murray, was influential in the appointment. (Mail)

Rangers boss McCoist calls for cash

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has called on chief executive Graham Wallace to splash the cash to help solve the Ibrox club’s injury crisis.

Kyle Hutton is recovering from a leg break with Richard Forster and Andy Little also out.

McCoist says the club will have to spend if they overcome Falkirk today in the Scottish Cup. (Record)

Neil Lennon runs out of patience with Green Brigade

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has called the Green Brigade, an “ultra” section of the club’s support, “self-indulgent” and “tarnishers of Celtic’s reputation” after their display of a banner comparing hunger striker Bobby Sands with William Wallace.

The banner was unfurled before Celtic’s match with AC Milan this week.

The Parkhead manager had previously paid tribute to the Green Brigade for their contribution to the atmosphere within the stadium. (Scotsman)

Hearts agree CVA

Hearts have agreed a company voluntary arrangement that will see the club exit administration once they have purchased the the club’s majority shareholding.

Fans’ group Foundation of Hearts (FoH) offered £2.5m towards debts of around £30m but cannot acquire UBIG’s majority shareholding until early 2014.

UBIG is due to hold its own creditors meeting. (Scotsman)

Ivan Sproule leaves Ross County

Ivan Sproule yesterday made a suprise departure from Ross County to return to Northern Ireland. The 32 year-old’s last match was against St Mirren on November 17 when he was sent off in a 2-1 defeat. (Scotsman)
