Former Rangers hero Mols scouting offer for McCoist

Michael Mols insists an army of ex-Ibrox players are ready to provide the rangers manager with a worldwide scouting network on the cheap. McCoist who has criticised the lack of a scouting system at the club as ‘unacceptable’ could be tempted by Mol’s offer. The Dutchman says there are ex-Rangers players in many countries around the world and they could be used to help find new talent for the club. (Daily Mail)

Terry Butcher’s anger at disallowed goal

Terry Butcher believes the linesman’s blunder which saw his team plunged into a relegation dogfight was a ‘horrendous decision’. The Hibs boss confronted assistant referee Alasdair Ross in the tunnel after the game after he disallowed Defender Jordan Forster’s 82nd minute header for offside. The Hibs boss says the mistake cost them the chance to equalise and then perhaps go on and win the game. (Sun)

Griffiths caught singing as Hearts beat drop

Leigh Griffiths was filmed on a mobile phone singing along with Hibs fans before Sunday’s derby match with Hearts.

The 23 year-old, who now plays for Celtic, is seen standing up in a crowded pub before raising his arms and bellowing out “Hearts are going bust” in a clip which lasts 43 seconds.

Hearts went on to the win the derby 2-0 ensuring they were not relegated by their rivals, however they still remain 21 points behind St Mirren who are second bottom.

Gary Locke admits he couldn’t sleep before the Edinburgh derby and says he was tormented by the thought of the consequences of being relegated by Hibs. The Hearts manager calls the victory pay back for the fans and says the team owed the win to them. (Sun)

Liverpool are top of the Premiership as the title race heats up, the Merseyside team beat Spurs 4-0 on Sunday to cement their credentials as serious contenders to be Champions come the end of the season. The reds have now scored 88 goals this season and have won their last seven games but manager Brendan Rogers is not yet ready to label his team as favourites.

McCoist Hails Lennon after title win

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has hailed Celtic manager Neil Lennon, after the Parkhead side won their third premiership title in a row and admitted they will win a succession of titles over the coming seasons. Hearts relegation delaying win over Hibs in Sunday’s Edinburgh derby was marred by ugly scenes as Jambos no.1 Jamie MacDonald was pelted with objects including a seat, a drumstick, lighters, coins and even a shoe, One Hibs fan was also arrested for invading the pitch before unused Hearts sub Jamie Walker and Hibs keeper Ben Williams had to be split up after a heated exchange.
