Rangers turn down Wallace bid

RANGERS have rejected an official bid from Nottingham Forest for left-back Lee Wallace.

Forest reportedly made the £900,000 bid for the 26-year-old Scotland cap on Friday, with Rangers holding out for a seven-figure sum.

Celtic: Griffiths bid snubbed as Balde may leave on loan

WOLVES have rejected a second formal offer from Celtic for Scotland striker Leigh Griffiths.

Wolves have refused to reveal their valuation of the striker to Celtic, as the Wolverhampton side try to keep hold of their top scorer.

Meanwhile, Celtic striker Amido Balde could be set to leave the club on a loan deal before the end of the month, with reports that a number of English clubs have been alerted to the 21-year-old’s availability. (Record/ Express)

Lennon - ‘van Dijk in line for Dutch cap’

CELTIC manager Neil Lennon believes star centre-half Virgil van Dijk is set to win his first full cap for the Netherlands in the near future.

Lennon said: “He’s really hungry. He has an all-round game and I think we’ve won a watch with him. He’s worth a lot more now than we paid for him.

“I think he can play for Holland and go to the highest level.” (Various)

FORMER Scotland captain Barry Ferguson saw his hopes of becoming the permanent manager at Blackpool take a heavy hit last night, as he led the side to a 5-1 defeat.

The former Rangers ace was appointed caretaker manager last week, and led the Seasiders to a draw with Doncaster in his first game before publicly stating his desire to stay on as boss.

However, his chances may have been dealt a fatal blow by the four-goal hiding at the hands of Reading. (Mail)

Everton eye United’s Robertson

DUNDEE United full-back Andy Robertson is a reported transfer target for Premier League high-fliers Everton.

The Scotland under-21 star is the latest of United’s crop of young stars to be linked with a move to Goodison Park, with Roberto Martinez’s side also linked with star midfielder Ryan Gauld.

Everton have reportedly told United to expect an offer for the defender, who is valued at £1.5 million. (Sun)

Premier League sides want Killie’s Slater

KILMARNOCK midfielder Craig Slater could be the subject of a last-ditch transfer bid from one of two English Premier League sides.

The Sun report that 20-year-old Slater is a potential target for Southampton and West Bromwich Albion, with Derby County also watching the midfielder’s progress.
