Celtic v Barcelona: Forster amazes Iniesta, Song wants win

• ANDRES Iniesta has hailed the “incredible” performances of Celtic goalie Fraser Forster.

The Barcelona midfielder said: “Over the last two seasons everyone now knows who Fraser Forster is. His performances in Europe have been incredible.

“Celtic will want to make sure they keep him but it will be hard for them.” (Sun)

• ALEX Song wants Barcelona to re-establish their dominance over European football - starting with a win against Celtic tomorrow.

Song said: “We want to win the game against Celtic but we also want to have a good performance because we have a lot to prove after our last match of the Champions League against Ajax.” (Mail)

Cardiff keeping tabs on Celtic’s Ledley

CELTIC midfielder Joe Ledley could be a target for his former side Cardiff City, after the Bluebirds sent a scout to watch their former player in action this weekend.

Ledley is out of contract at the end of the season, and while a new deal has been offered Ledley is yet to sign up.

Georgios Samaras is also attracting attention, with Toronto FC reportedly mulling over a move for the Greek attacker. (Scotsman)

Easdale increases control at Rangers

SANDY Easdale has received the voting rights to over 2 million ordinary shares in Rangers ahead of the club’s AGM.

Easdale now controls voting rights over 26% of the shares in Rangers International Football Club plc, after receiving the rights to Beaufort Securities’ shares.

The club AGM takes place next week, and fans’ group Sons of Struth is to write to the top 50 investors in a bid to gain their support for boardroom change. (Stock Exchange)

Hooper: ‘Lennon’s one of the best’

GARY Hooper believes that his former Celtic manager Neil Lennon is one of the top bosses in Europe.

The Norwich striker said: “There is no doubt Neil Lennon is one of the top coaches in Europe. You only need to look at what he has achieved with Celtic in Europe and Scotland.

“Playing well in the Champions League certainly helped me… and Victor (Wanyama) get our big-money moves last summer.” (Express)

Hearts boss Locke behind Walker over ‘dive’

GARY Locke has defended Jamie Walker after the winger was accused of diving against Dundee United this weekend.

Locke said: “I don’t think you can say he’s a diver when he’s been brought down. You can’t get labelled a diver if you’re getting kicked up and down the place every week.”

Walker was booked after going down in the United box - TV pictures of the event were inconclusive. (Express)

McNamara wants United stars to keep focus

DUNDEE United manager Jackie McNamara reckons Ryan Gauld and James Souttar are too focussed on the task at hand to be distracted by speculation over possible transfers.

McNamara said: “As a youngster you put it to one side and concentrate on what’s happening on the pitch.

“It shouldn’t affect them and, to be honest, you can see in their performances that it hasn’t.” (Sun)
