Rangers fans group step up campaign

Rangers supporters group, the Union of Fans, says it will help ensure Dave King’s season

ticket trust fund plan is a success after meeting with the South African-based business

man yesterday.

The group say they will only hand over season ticket money from the trust when they

receive assurances that the club is financially secure.

Kilmarnock wipe out debt

Rugby Park chairman Michael Johnson has agreed to step down as chairman after agreeing a

deal with the Bank of Scotland to wipe out its £9.4m worth of debt.

Johnson will retain a seat on the board after sealing the deal which involves selling the

£2.5m Park Hotel to investor Bill Bowie with the profits used to reduce the debt.

Bowie will take a share of the debt in return for equity in the club while former chairman

Jamie Moffat will write off his loans to the club - originally £1.8m. (Scotsman)

Celtic manager Neil Lennon will ask Kris Commons to reconsider his Scotland future

after a season which has seen the winger in exceptional form.
