Guidetti sold on move to Celtic by Larsson

John Guidetti grabbed the chance to move to Parkhead after a glowing reference for the club from former Celt Henrik Larsson.

The Man City loan signing was confirmed following an SFA appeal to FIFA after delayed paperwork threatened to scupper the move. (Mail)

Hearts fans on target for club ownership

Foundation of Hearts chairman Ian Murray has confirmed that the fans’ group has put £1m into the Tynecastle club as they work towards full ownership within five years. The group aim eventually to buy the club from current owner Ann Budge. (Various)

Race for Ross County hot seat still wide open

Ross County chairman Roy MacGregor says the race to fill the vacant manager’s job is still wide open. The club say they have a current short list of four or five candidates and plan to start interviews next week. (Press and Journal)

Dominique Malonga signs for Hibs

Hibs have moved to plug the gap left by Farid El Alagui’s injury by snapping up former Serie A striker Dominique Malonga on a two-year deal.

The 25-year-old has played in Italy’s top flight with Torino and Cesena, and had spells on loan with Vicenza in Serie B and in Spain’s Segunda Division on loan with Real Murcia last season. (Scotsman)

Rangers play down insolvency threat

Rangers last night tried to allay fears of another insolvency event following Imran Ahmad’s successful court bid to have £620,000 of club assets frozen.

Ahmad, Rangers’ former commercial director, claims he is owed £500,000 in bonuses from his time at Ibrox, while he is also seeking £120,000 to cover legal expenses and has now seen a judge find in his favour that the Ibrox club will have some assets ring-fenced until the completion of the ongoing case. Boffins confident Scotland will qualify

Scotland’s qualification for the 2016 European Championships is a mathematical certainty, according to a model devised by Scottish researchers.

Strathclyde University scientists have built a mathematical model that has predicted Scotland’s progress to their first major finals in 16 years, analysing 368 international matches - with a special focus on Scotland’s Group D opponents - and a host of other variables. (Scotsman)
