Could Jeff Louis still join Celtic?

CELTIC have again been linked with a move for Nancy midfielder Jeff Louis.

The Hoops were reportedly after the Haitian international under Neil Lennon, but assistant manager John Collins suggested a move was still an option.

“I don’t know if it’s going to be wrapped up soon. There’s different players on the agenda so until we’ve signed the paper, nobody is a definite,” the BBC quoted him as saying.

Louis, 23, netted 12 goals in 29 appearances for the Ligue 2 side last season, and has just a year to go on his contract. (Inside Futbol)

No Zyro move, say Legia

LEGIA Warsaw chiefs have issued a hands-off warning to Celtic over top midfielder Michal Zyro.

Hoops ‘keeper Lukasz Zaluska claimed yesterday that Celtic scouts had sounded him out over the 21-year-old.

CELTIC will come up against crazy Slovakian ‘keeper Dusan Kuciak when they line up against Legia Warsaw.

The 6ft 4in No 1 has been accused of match-fixing and regularly attacks team mates - including ex-Motherwell forward Henrik Ojamaa.

Hot-tempered Kuciak has won two league titles and two Polish Cups at Legia, but once throttled a team mate for giving the ball away at a throw-in. (The Sun)

Deila admits lack of professionalism cost Watt Hoops role

CELTIC boss Ronny Deila has revealed that Tony Watt’s lack of commitment and professionalism cost him his place at Celtic.

The 20-year-old striker joined Standard Liege earlier this week for a fee of around £1.2 million. And Deila has echoed predecessor Neil Lennon and Lierse chief Stanley Menzo.

Deila told The Scotsman: “Tony hasn’t progressed as we wanted so far and I think that’s because he hasn’t been getting into the right culture, realising the consequences and changing his mentality.

“I think now it’s good for him to start all over and to be the professional he needs to be to get to the highest level that he can.

“It is no coincidence that Celtic’s three players at the World Cup finals were Fraser Forster, Emilio Izaguirre and Efe Ambrose. They are top professionals. They stay after training, they go to bed at 10pm, they do everything perfect. The culture they have is the one we want to give the young Scottish players.” (The Scotsman)

Greegsy sold me on Hibs move, reveals Oxley

HULL’s Edinburgh-born goalie Allan McGregor sold Mark Oxley on a move to Hibs, the new Easter Road No 1 has revealed.

Oxley penned a six-month loan deal earlier this week, with the strong possibility of it becoming a season-long loan, and said he’d taken advice from Robert Snodgrass as well as former Rangers ‘keeper McGregor.

“It’s going to be a decent league and I see it as a challenge,” Oxley said, adding: “[McGregor] said it would be a great league this season.” (The Scotsman)

FORMER Hibs striker Garry O’Connor looks set to join Lowland League outfit Selkirk.

The 31-year-old has been without a club since leaving Morton after a spell to forget, during which he was called unfit by the club’s chairman.

United bring in Townsend for Robertson

CALLUM Paterson is to see a specialist tomorrow to discover the extent of his knee injury.
