Hearts firm battles to save club

Hearts administrators BDO are fighting to stop the club being liquidated, after the Lithuanian firm Valnetas UAB threatened to bin the Tynecastle outfit if they do not receive a better offer.

Bids from all three suitors were rejected, with one group being ruled out entirely. That leaves the Foundation of Hearts and Five stars Football, fronted by Angelo Massone. (Scotsman)

BT Sport hail coverage

New TV channel BT Sport say that their standing as part of a huge company means they can afford to invest in coverage of Scottish football.

The group said that it is in their interest to make sure the contract for Scottish football coverage is worth more at the end of the current term.

They will show 30 SPFL Premiership games this season, along with 10 Rangers matches League One. (Daily Express)

No deal for Trotman

Dundee United have lost interest in signing English defender Neal Trotman.

Boss Jackie McNamara feels he has already signed nine players so can get by without the 26-year-old. (Various)

Rangers eye trialists

Rangers have taken on trialists Mamady Sidibe and Hameur Bouazza from the English premiership.

Both players landed in Glasgow on Sunday and will spend the week trying to impress Ally McCoist. (Sun)

Nacho Novo has finally accepted that Rangers do not want him back, and he says it breaks his heart.

The former Ibrox favourite has been looking for a club and had been training with Rangers, but he will not be part of Ally McCoist’s plans. (Various)
