Gary Hooper could have played last game for Celtic

Neil Lennon admited that it is likely that striker Gary Hooper has played his last game for the Parkhead club. The Englishman missed last night’s 3 - 0 friendly loss to Union Berlin and admitted that it has been difficult to convince the 25-year-old to stay.

He said: “Has he played his last game for Celtic? Never say never but it’s looking more and more that way.” (Record)

Mather appointment backed by Walter Smith

Rangers chairman Walter Smith has backed the appointment of Craig Mather as chief executive adding that he has a clear vision and is the man to take “Rangers back to the pinnacle of Scottish football”. (Record)

Hearts administration: bidders for Tynecastle club emerge

The Gorgie club’s administrators are expected to announce the preferred bidder in the next four week after recieving 3 rival bids.

Hearts fans’ group Foundation of Hearts, US sports investment group Club 9 in conjunction with Peebles-based businessman Bob Jamieson and former Livingston owner Angelo Massone are all understood to be in the running to take over the club. (Scotsman)

The group looking to save Dunfermline from extinction, Pars United, will present an offer to creditors on July 30. If and agreement is met the Fife side will avoid a £150,000 SFA penalty for starting the season in administration however if it is declined then the Pars will almost certainly be liquidated.
