Forster Brazil bound

Fraser Forster is set to be named in England’s world cup squad. Norwich keeper John Ruddy has apparently been informed that he will be the stand by Goalkeeper for the tournament in Brazil and this means Forster is poised to earn a place in Roy Hodgson’s squad. The keeper will take his place as back up to Joe Hart and Ben Foster. Although Roy Hodgson wont officially name his squad until tomorrow, it is thought Forster will receive a call tonight. Terry Butcher says he won’t quit

Terry Butcher has insisted he won’t quit Hibernian despite being targeted by fans following their defeat by Kilmarnock. The 1-0 loss has meant that Hibs will need to face either Hamilton or Falkirk in a play off to decide their Premiership fate. Butcher though remains confident he is the man to stop the rot, he said: “Yes, I still see myself being here but we have two games to try to rectify the wrongs of the previous 38. We don’t want to be in this situation but we have two opportunities where we can rectify a lot of the wrongs of this year and that’s what we have to do because we are fighting for survival.” (Sun)

Lorenzo Amoruso is backing boycott

Rangers legend Lorenzo Amoruso has backed the season ticket boycott by the fans and has thrown his weight behind Dave King’s bid to gain control over Ibrox. The Italian is the latest in a long line of former Rangers players and icons who have spoken out against the board. Amoruso believes fans have earned the right to stay away after watching those in charge blow £70 million in just two years, he said: “It’s hard to believe that having experienced a full house at Ibrox for some of the stadium’s best atmospheres, I am now asking for it to be empty. But sadly if that is what it is going to take to get this board out then that’s the way it has to be. Rangers belongs to the fans. Dave King is Rangers man and is putting himself out there. I hope he gets to play an important role in the running of the club. (Sunday Mail)

Kris Boyd tells Kilmarnock to make him an offer

Kris Boyd, who’s goals helped keep Kilmarnock in the Premiership but is out of contract this summer has told boss Allan Johnston he’ll have the first chance to offer the striker a contract. Rangers are apparently waiting in the wings but Boyd is insists he’ll talk to Killie first. He said: “Obviously there’s been a lot of speculation surrounding my future and where I’m going to go next. But I’ll give Kilmarnock first crack at it. The club has been great to me so I’m not going to rush away and sign for anybody behind their back.” (Sun)

Boerritger to leave Celtic

Derk Boerritger’s Celtic career looks to be over as the champions have decided to cut their losses with the dutchman this summer and allow him to leave. Celtic paid Ajax more than £1 million for the winger but an injury plagued season has meant he has started just four matches. The dutchman had told his home country’s press that he would be pushing for showdown talks with Lennon but it’s understood the Celtic manager will tell Boerritger that he has no future in Lennon’s plans. Celtic to offer Commons new contract

Celtic are set to open negotiations with Kris Commons over a bumper new contract. Scotland’s Player of the Year has a one year option on his deal which the club will trigger for the start of the new campaign. But Lennon wants the star tied down for longer and is confident a deal can be done. He said: “That would be ideal, Kris has at least two more good years left in him.” (Various)
