David Moyes favourite to be next Celtic boss

THE bookmakers have made David Moyes an evens favourite to become the next manager of Celtic.

The former boss of Everton and Manchester United was yesterday sacked by Basque club Real Sociedad after an underwhelming year in charge.

Moyes played for Celtic for three years from 1980 to 1983 and has previously talked of his openness with regard to managing the club one day. (Daily Record)

Hearts ban 10 bus attack supporters

HEARTS have dished out lifetime bans to 10 supporters responsible for the attack on a Ross County supporters’ bus prior to a Scottish Premiership match last month.

The club were forced to issue an apology after a group of young fans, thought to be around 15-25 in number, attacked the coach and stole a drum.

A promise was made in the initial club statement that action would be taken, and it is believed this pledge has been met with certain individuals identified with the help of CCTV footage. (Daily Record)

Darren O’Dea: Rangers should lose EBT titles

FORMER Celtic centre back Darren O’Dea has called for Rangers to be stripped of the four league titles they won during the EBT era.

The Irish international, who currently plays for Mumbai City, insists he’s not interested in gaining any additional league winners’ medals to add to the two he won with Celtic between 2006 and 2012.

However, O’Dea believes it’s in the best interests of sporting integrity that the SPFL takes back titles won by Rangers as they gained an advantage over the competition through illegal use of EBTs. (Daily Record)

John Collins urges Celtic to stand by Ronny Deila

JOHN Collins has no doubt Celtic will retain manager Ronny Deila, irrespective of the outcome of their two remaining Europa League Group A fixtures.

Deila attracted fresh criticism last week when Celtic slumped to a 2-1 home defeat by Molde which left them at the bottom of their group.

The Scottish champions must now take maximum points from their final fixtures, at home to Ajax on 26 November and away to Fenerbahce in Istanbul on 10 December, in order to salvage a place in the last 32 of the tournament. (The Scotsman)

Hearts hope Jamie Walker can return to face Dundee

JAMIE WALKER could return from injury when Hearts face Dundee next weekend if his knee responds to treatment.

The winger is being managed by Riccarton medical staff after missing the Edinburgh club’s last two matches. The hope is he will be fit after the international break.
