Hearts ban 10 bus attack supporters

HEARTS have dished out lifetime bans to 10 supporters responsible for the attack on a Ross County supporters’ bus prior to a Scottish Premiership match last month.

The club were forced to issue an apology after a group of young fans, thought to be around 15-25 in number, attacked the coach and stole a drum.

A promise was made in the initial club statement that action would be taken, and it is believed this pledge has been met with certain individuals identified with the help of CCTV footage. (Daily Record)

Darren O’Dea: Rangers should lose EBT titles

FORMER Celtic centre back Darren O’Dea has called for Rangers to be stripped of the four league titles they won during the EBT era.

The Irish international, who currently plays for Mumbai City, insists he’s not interested in gaining any additional league winners’ medals to add to the two he won with Celtic between 2006 and 2012.

However, O’Dea believes it’s in the best interests of sporting integrity that the SPFL takes back titles won by Rangers as they gained an advantage over the competition through illegal use of EBTs. (Daily Record)

Deila attracted fresh criticism last week when Celtic slumped to a 2-1 home defeat by Molde which left them at the bottom of their group.

The Scottish champions must now take maximum points from their final fixtures, at home to Ajax on 26 November and away to Fenerbahce in Istanbul on 10 December, in order to salvage a place in the last 32 of the tournament. (The Scotsman)

‘Celtic way’ will be route to Europe success - Collins

ASSISTANT boss says club’s passing-game philosophy will not be sacrificed to bolster defence against continental opposition

If there is a fine line between being principled and being stubborn when it comes to football management, John Collins is quite happy to walk that particular tightrope at Celtic.

The evidence his first 18 months in tandem with Ronny Deila at the Scottish champions may suggest a change of approach is required to arrest an often dismal run of results in Europe.

But, in a passionate defence of their shared belief in a purists’ footballing philosophy, Collins has made it plain there will be no concessions made to pragmatism. (The Scotsman)

Keeping Cummings will be key for Hibs - Keatings

JAMES Keatings insists that retaining the services of Jason Cummings in January will be crucial to Hibernian’s chances of catching Rangers in the chase for the Championship.

Still basking in the glory of becoming the first player to score hat-tricks for both Edinburgh clubs since the legendary Allan Gordon after a treble in Saturday’s 4-1 win at Paisley, Keatings knows the value of his strike partner.

Hearts hope Jamie Walker can return to face Dundee

JAMIE WALKER could return from injury when Hearts face Dundee next weekend if his knee responds to treatment.

The winger is being managed by Riccarton medical staff after missing the Edinburgh club’s last two matches. The hope is he will be fit after the international break.

Hearts decided to rest Walker for recent games against Partick Thistle and Hamilton in order to let his troublesome knee recover. (Edinburgh Evening News)
