Celtic target Libor Kozak

CELTIC are in talks to sign Aston Villa striker Libor Kozak before the transfer window closes, according to reports.

26-year-old Kozak has yet to start for the Birmingham side this season, and has played only 15 games since arriving at the club in 2013.

The Czech forward was plagued by injury in his debut season due to complications from a broken leg.

Hibernian sign free agent Darren McGregor

HIBS have signed Darren McGregor on a two-year deal after Rangers boss Mark Warburton released him from his contract on Monday evening.

McGregor - last season’s Ibrox Player of the Year - joined Hibs less than 24 hours after his surprise exit from their bitter Championship rival.

St Johnstone was also thought to be interested in the defender before he penned a deal at Easter Road. (The Scotsman)

Striker Theo Robinson in training with Hibernian

JAMAICA international Theo Robinson is reportedly on trial with Hibs following his release from Doncaster.

The 26-year-old has been spotted at the club’s East Mains training complex fuelling rumours he is bidding to secure a deal with the Edinburgh side.

Robinson has had spells at Watford, Huddersfield, Millwall and Derby County before his latest stint at Doncaster Rovers. (Scottish Sun)

ENGLISH Premier League side Everton are poised to make a concrete bid for Partick Thistle defender Jack Hendry.

The 20-year-old’s move to Merseyside could be finalised by the end of the week after watching Hendry one last time in Partick’s League Cup tie with Falkirk on Tuesday evening.

In what looks to be a meteoric rise for the player, the central defender has made only three appearances for Glasgow outfit. (Daily Mail)

Leigh Griffiths spurred on by Wiland duel

CELTIC star Leigh Griffiths is apparently determined to have the final say in his war of words with Malmö goalkeeper Johan Wiland.

Wiland branded Griffiths “a brat” during a verbal tirade in which he also described Celtic as “pigs”.

The comments came ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash which could see the Parkhead side progress to the group stages. Griffiths has said he is fired up by the comments. (The Scotsman)

Gedion Zelalem joined Rangers after recommendation

RANGERS’ latest loanee Gedion Zelalem joined the Ibrox squad after reportedly hearing good things about the club from a former Brentford player.

Zelalem said he spoke to Arsenal youth teammate Jon Toral before making the move to Glasgow to join Mark Warburton’s squad.
