Hoops defend Wanyama talks

Celtic say they have handled negotiations surrounding Victor Wanyama’s future “with integrity” after the midfielder’s agent said the player would not be forced into a move that did not suit him simply just it was good financially for the Hoops.

Ivan Modia says there are no longer any talks with Southampton, and the player is likely to look elsewhere. (Scotsman)

McManus in ‘Well talks

Ex-Celtic captain Stephen McManus is in talks with Motherwell, after the Scot came to the end of his contract with Middlesborough.

Hibs and Dundee United are also said to be interested in McManus, who is apparently keen to return to Scotland for family reasons. (Daily Express)

Gordon for Rangers?

New Rangers recruit Richard Foster would welcome the prospect of Craig Gordon joining him at Ibrox this season.

Former Sunderland and Hearts goalkeeper Gordon is without a club and has been training with Rangers. (Scotsman)

Tade away

St Johnstone fans will be upset at the departure of Gregory Tade, after he finalised a switch to Romanian side Cluj.

It was thought Tade would stay for another year, but this new deal will see him spend three years in Transylvania. (Scotsman)

Sandaza in limbo

Francisco Sandaza’s challenge against Rangers for unfair dismissal could be cast further into doubt due to league changes.

The Spanish player was sacked after he was duped into revealing his contract details to a hoax caller, and hoped to raise his challenge with the SFL, but he may now have to wait until the new SPFL is formed before he can proceed. (Sun)

McInnes spent

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes was so desperate to grab his summer targets that he has already blown his budget.

The Dons manager did most of his business early in the off-season, but says he is happy with his signings, even though he still needs a keeper. (Daily Express)
