Celtic could lift title today

A point for Celtic at home to Inverness Caley Thistle this lunchtime will confirm their SPL title win. Celtic are 12 points clear of second-place Motherwell with four games to go - with a 33-goal lead on goal difference - and at least a draw will confirm Neil Lennon’s side as champions.

Row over Mather at Ibrox, while McCoist calls for ‘cleansing’

The boardroom drama continues at Ibrox, with a split over the replacement for Charles Green. Craig Mather had been thought to be the front-runner to take charge, but some at the club are thought to be wary of Mather because he was hired by Green. (Various)

Ally McCoist has called Rangers to be “totally cleansed”. Speaking after his side’s loss at home to Peterhead, the Rangers manager said that the club needed a period of truth and introspection.

McCoist said: “We need to get everything out in the open and hopefully this internal investigation will do that.

“Everyone has to be able to see what has been going on and where this club is hopefully heading.” (The Sun)

Johnny Russell target for Serie A’s Catania

Dundee United striker Johnny Russell has been the subject of multiple bids from Italian side Catania.

The Serie A side most recently bid 600,000 euros for Russell, who has scored 20 goals in all competitions this season. The centre-forward has a year left on his current deal at Tannadice. (BBC)

Kenny Shiels’ Kilmarnock were booed off the Rugby Park pitch yesterday afternoon - to the apparent pleasure of the manager.

Shiels said: ”To get booed off at the end is brilliant.

“It makes me feel so good because it’s testament to how far we have come - to lose 1-0 against Hearts.

“That’s testament to the expectations of what supporters are seeing.” (Various)
