SFA and SPFL finally reach compromise

The Scottish FA and the SPFL have reached a compromise agreement following four hour talks at Hampden yesterday.

The SPFL has agreed to drop two of the four resolutions it had proposed at next month’s SFA meeting. The league body has dropped its demand for change in respect of admission of new clubs and control of the £12m that goes towards investment in grassroots Scottish football in Scotland.

Two SPFL motions will now go to the SFA board meeting. The board will consider reducing the tenure of the president and vice president from four to one year and increasing the representation on the SFA board for Professional Game Board members from one to two. (Scotsman)

Johan Mjallby to leave Celtic

Celtic assistant manager Johan Mjallby will leave the Parkhead club at the end of the season fuelling speculation that Neil Lennon could depart for an English side this summer with Norwich looking the favourites.

Mjallby had spoken recently of his desire to manage in his homeland of Sweden. (Scotsman)
