The former Pittodrie star is heavily favoured to return to his old club to become the successor to Derek McInnes. He has been working as a coach and interim boss for Atlanta United in the MLS. The franchise have a strategic partnership with Aberdeen.

Chairman Dave Cormack said last week, amid intense speculation Glass was set to take over, that no promises had been made and no candidate had been offered the job. He also refuted claims Glass was staying in a nearby hotel until he passed quarantine restrictions.

According to the Scottish Sun, Glass has now been formally interviewed for the position and the Scottish Premiership side are ready to hand him the reins, with Sky Sports reporting that a deal could be announced by the close of play on Tuesday.

Scott Brown is heavily rumoured to be joining his former Hibs team-mate in the north east as a player/assistant coach. The Daily Record claims the Celtic captain will be unveiled along with Glass after deciding to end his 14-year stay with the Glasgow club.

The 35-year-old has been offered a new one-year deal to remain at Celtic and help assist a new manager with an overall of the squad this summer. However, with the identity of Neil Lennon’s successor still yet unknown, and no guarantees Brown will be a regular member of the first-team squad next term, he is understood to have decided his immediate future lies at Pittodrie.
