Morelos turns down lucrative Qatar deal - report

Alfredo Morelos

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has turned down a lucrative move to Qatar - according to the Daily Mail.

Qatar league leaders Al Duhail were linked with the Colombian in June having already agreed moves for noticeable names such as Mario Mandzukic and Medhi Benatia.

However, Morelos want to stay put at Ibrox - and would only consider leaving if a club from a top European league wanted him.

Hart opens up on future

Joe Hart, who has been linked with a move to Celtic, has opened up on his future following his release from Burnley.

Hart said: “I’ve put myself in a position where there’s not a lot of places that haven’t heard of me as a goalkeeper, haven’t heard of me for what I can do. I’d like to think I’m always going to have those links.

“Well, I know, I strongly believe I can play at the top level, but football’s about politics, it’s not necessarily about ability.

“I understand that getting to the place I want to be is going to be difficult, but I’m going to give myself the best opportunity to play at the highest level possible, and when I do get that chance, I’m going to be ready.”

Roofe considered by Rangers - report

Kemar Roofe

Rangers are eyeing a move for Kemar Roofe – but are struggling to agree a deal with Anderlecht.

That’s according to Walfoot, who claims the Gers want to loan the former Leeds United striker for a season with an option to make it permanent for £6million.

However, the  Belgian side would rather sell outright, rather than agreeing to a loan move, which has resulted in Rangers’ offer being knocked back.

Marshall linked with shock Celtic return

Celtic have been linked with a shock return move for former goalkeeper David Marshall.

Wigan Athletic’s veteran shot-stopper has reportedly been considered by Neil Lennon as an alternative to Fraser Forster if a deal cannot be agreed with Southampton.

Marshall has one year left on his contract with the Championship club.

Donis Avdijaj reflects on Hearts spell

“Of course it could have gone better for me,” he said. “I’m not unhappy with what happened at Hearts. I could have stayed at Trabzonspor, but I wanted to play more games.

“I knew that I could get more out of myself and that’s why I took the step to Scotland and with Daniel Stendel I saw myself on the right path.

“Scotland was good for me because of the quick, kick and rush style, which is of course, very pronounced there,” he said. “It was a cool experience and helped me develop.

“Scotland was certainly a new environment for me, but it was worth the experience.

“I am confident enough to say that I will always find a club that wants me. There are currently discussions with other top league clubs in four different countries.

“I’ve never doubted my ability. I had twelve games at Hearts and you don’t know how things would have gone if the coronavirus hadn’t intervened.”
