Rami Gershon vows to get up to speed at Celtic

RAMI Gershon has vowed to put a slow start to his Celtic career behind him and show the Parkhead faithful his true self.

The Israeli defender arrived at Celtic in January on loan from Standard Liege but has only made two appearances, both in the Highlands.

Gershon scored on his debut in a 3-1 victory over Inverness but a thigh injury hit him before he returned to the line-up in a three-man Celtic defence against Ross County on Saturday.

The 24-year-old was replaced by Kris Commons on 65 minutes with the scores level before County took control and went on to secure a late 3-2 win.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon admitted his side looked “ragged” at the back at times on 
Saturday and Gershon is looking to get on top of his game.

“I’ve had a bit of bad luck as since I came as I’ve had two small injuries that took me two weeks to recover from, so this put me on the back foot,” Gershon told the Celtic View.

“The most important thing for me is to stay fit, as the two games I’ve played is very far from what I can do. I’m sure I can come back to the level I know I’m capable of.

“I feel good. I need more confidence that comes with playing more minutes and then I am sure I can come back to the Rami I know.
