Paddy McCourt set for Peterborough

FREED Celtic winger Paddy 
McCourt looks certain to sign for Peterborough United after impressing on trial – and manager Darren Ferguson is delighted he is finally set to land his man.

Despite the former Parkhead favourite being linked with a move to the USA, the Northern Irish winger is set to sign for the League One side after playing against Northampton Town in a weekend friendly.

Said Ferguson: “I’ve known of Paddy for years and we tried to sign him when he moved to Celtic a few years ago. He is a very good player who has outstanding ability on the ball and great balance.

“We took the chance to get him on board for a few days and he definitely suits the way we want to play. We’ll talk again during the rest of the week and see where it takes us. He has other offers but he has made it clear he wants to come here.”
