The Parkhead side’s draw with Dundee United on Sunday handed the Ibrox club the title with the gap between the teams an insurmountable 20 points.

It resulted in thousands of Rangers fans breaking Covid-19 guidelines by congregating across Glasgow to celebrate the club’s first top-flight title since 2011.

Such scenes resulted in condemnation from the Scottish Government with discussions now taking place regarding the meeting between the two sides later this month at Parkhead.

It is understood one of the options on the table is for the fixture to be cancelled due to possible further celebrations.

Celtic took to Twitter to have their say on the matter, producing a eight word statement.

The tweet read: “Celtic Football Club Statement: We’re not half of anything… Not our problem. #OneClubSince1888”

Earlier today, Steven Gerrard spoke to ITV News and said he believed the club “did everything we could to calm” the situation down.
