The Parkhead manager has stuck with the same diamond formation that has worked well for him recently, while captain Scott Brown remains on the bench.

Here’s how the Celtic fans reacted to the team on social media:

@hoopsfan9: “Well done Lenny!!!! This is the team 90% of us wanted to see! Right into them!!”

@TheGurk47: “Some people will never be pleased and those are the ones who are great at FIFA and won everything at football manager level - that’s a a strong team - we have better players - those players need to turn up and put a performance in that’s been lacking in these fixtures recently!”

@jack_barclay: “Brown on the bench is a sad sight to see but necessary, we can't keep blaming Lennon if we lose today when he's selecting the best team possible.”

@JC29gpvattnet: “As long as Frimpong doesn't just disappear up the park. We don't seem to have a proper RB. I would've played Taylor at LB today. Rangers are going to play into the corners to get traction in the game.”

@yahmpy: “Jullien being hurt is big but was expected. Barkas and Bitton need to have a big day for a good result. McGregor too.”

@KaspersM: “The dream of stopping 10 has become just that. The nightmare begins for Gerrard. 3-0 Celtic. Griff, Eddie and Turnbull.”

@LovesACurry: “Serious lack of leaders on the pitch worries me. Mcgregor is not a captain for me. Lets hope we have enough.”

@markmcguire04: “Barkas needs to marshal the defence. We have no one playing who is good in the air. Frimpong and Laxalt need to be on the money defensively and offensively. Griffiths and Edouard need to do what they do best!!!!”

@ryanmay1996: “No one else worried about playing a narrow midfield diamond against a team who rely on the attacking input of their fullbacks? Hope Francis has a plan to stop them from influencing the game and stretching McGregor and Christie out wide.”

@ConMcQ: “He actually did it. Gutted for big Jullien. Still have a lot of faith in this side. We are giving ourselves the best chance we can with our strongest possible side. No regrets Celtic.”
