It has been a successful window so far for Lennon who has managed to bring in Vasilis Barkas, Albian Ajeti and Shane Duffy.

The 20-year-old Doughty has been identified by Celtic as a potential target, but Charlton have thus far been unmoved by offers, with reports suggesting the latest bid from the Parkhead side was around the £1m mark.

Lennon did not give any indication that the pursuit of the player will be successful.

“I don’t know, I don’t know,” he said. “I couldn’t tell you what the situation is with that.”
