AC Milan still keen on Ajer

Serie A side AC Milan are still keen on signing Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer, and could make a move this summer, according to reports. Burt out, Parkes in?

Liam Burt has been tipped to leave Celtic just 12 months after joining from rivals Rangers. The 21-year-old made three appearances for the Ibrox first team but struggled to make a first-team breakthrough at Parkhead, and could be on his way out at the end of the month. The Hoops are also said to be ‘well-placed’ to sign West Ham youngster Veron Parkes as they look to bolster their attacking options. (Glasgow Times / Football Insider)

Rangers could face competition if they are keen on landing Florian Kamberi on a permanent deal with Hull City making a move for the Hibs striker. The Swiss-born forward has almost certainly burnt his bridges after his comments following his loan switch to Ibrox, and the Easter Road side could let him leave for a low six-figure sum, but the Tigers have already had two bids rejected. Coaching shake-up at Hibs?

Jack Ross could bring in his former St Mirren and Sunderland colleague Craig Samson as Hibs’ new goalkeeping coach, according to reports. Samson is currently with Rochdale but is keen on a return to Scotland. Current goalkeeping coach Alan Combe has been linked with an Easter Road exit. (Daily Record)

Budge plots SPFL legal bid

Hearts will take the Scottish Professional Football League to court over their enforced relegation from the Premiership. Ann Budge, owner of the Edinburgh club, confirmed she has taken steps to begin legal proceedings after league reconstruction plans collapsed yesterday morning.

She is prepared to sue for between £4million and £5 million in lost revenue, although Partick Thistle and Stranraer decided against joining her due to the seven-figure cost of raising a civil case. (The Scotsman)

Hibs plan wage cuts

Hibs players will be asked to take pay cuts for the season ahead due to the impact of Covid-19, it has been reported.

Wage deferrals have been in place at Easter Road since the game was shut down in March, now the club is reportedly planning to implement a reduction in salaries in order to further address the ongoing economic challenges. (Evening News)

Pompey in for Nisbet

Portsmouth have joined the race for Dunfermline Athletic striker Kevin Nisbet, competing with Hibs and Dundee United for the 24-year-old’s services. Hibs’ financial situation may rule them out for the time being but the former Partick Thistle forward did effectively issue a ‘come-and-get-me’ plea to Hibs earlier this month. (Portsmouth News)
