Liverpool enter race to sign Celtic target Ben Davies - reports
Reports have emerged suggesting Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp is weighing up a move for the 25-year-old ahead of Monday's transfer deadline in an attempt to address problems in defence following injuries to Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Fabinho.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon has been keen to get a deal brokered for the left-sided defender in the January window after losing Christopher Jullien to a knee injury and seeing right-back Jeremie Frimpong sold to Bayer Leverkusen.
Davies has just six months left on his contract and has been in talks with Celtic regarding a move after rejecting a new deal with the Deepdale outfit.
However, the Parkhead club’s move could now be in jeopardy with respected football journalist Pete O'Rourke reporting that Liverpool are eyeing up a move for the player.
