What channel is Celtic v Celta Vigo? TV and live stream for Europa League clash

How to watch Celtic v Celta Vigo including free highlights

Celtic will go in search of their first points in this season’s Europa League when they host Celta Vigo on Thursday night.

Dismal defeats to Ferencvaros, 3-1 at home, and Benfica, 4-1 away, in their opening two league phase matches have left Martin O’Neill’s side languishing 33rd in the 36-team table ahead of matchday three.

Such a poor start means a victory against their Spanish visitors, who are eighth in La Liga, is already considered crucial to Celtic’s hopes of securing a top 24 finish and reaching the knockout stages of the competition.

The Scottish champions received a timely boost with a 7-1 demolition of Hearts on Sunday while Celta Vigo, who are also on zero points in the Europa League after defeats to Omonoia and Juventus, claimed a 2-1 home victory over Alaves.

The sides have met once before in European competition, with Celtic progressing on away goals to reach the last 16 of the Uefa Cup in February 2003 despite a 2-1 defeat in Vigo en route to the final.

Celtic’s remaining Europa League fixtures will see them host Besiktas on November 5 and Marseille on January 21 with away trips to Toreense on November 26, Omonoia on December 10 and Union Saint-Gilloise on January 28.
