SPL Fanzone: Celtic

Lennon’s future as manager is in doubt – as it should be. Results have been poor and so have the performances. Fans can take being down 3-0 to Kilmarnock (why should Celtic be immune from a hammering?) if we have played well for the rest of the season.

The Killie anger stemmed from this being a typical Celtic performance: hesitant in defence and poor in possession. Managers are always judged by their signings, but Celtic should also think long and hard about the players they have let go. We are no longer a club that can lure big-name signings. Would we have lost those goals with McManus and Caldwell at the back? Why did we let Kenny Miller go when he offered something different to our other strikers? And why did Lennon allow Shaun Maloney – a great SPL player – to leave? Celtic need a core that is solid and knows how to eke out results in a rainy December.
