Spurs eye move for Forster

Tottenham Hotspur had Celtic keeper Fraser Forster watched during last week’s Old Firm match.

Forster is currently on loan from Newcastle and has kept five clean sheets out of the last seven games.

Alex McLeish is considering a £6m move for Celtic midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng with the 22 following a recommendation by his assistant Peter Grant. (Record)

SFA consider action against Izaguirre and Black

Celtic and Hearts could face SFA action after their players removed their shirts to reveal t-shirts emblazoned with messages.

Parkhead defender Emilio Izaguirre, who has just returned from injury, revealed a top which read “Thanks God for healing me” while Hearts midfielder Ian Black, who has reportedly taken on a painting job during the Hearts pay dispute, showed off a top which read “I’ll paint this place maroon”.

SFA compliance officer Vincent Lunny will decide today if any action is to be taken. (Sun)

No immediate moves for players at Ibrox

It has been reported that there are no signings on the horizon at Rangers despite owner Craig Whyte meeting with manager Ally McCoist for talks over strengthening the club’s squad.

An unnamed source confirmed that talks between the pair were continuing but that no transfer moves were imminent. (Herald)

St Johnstone offer Sandaza new deal

Steve Lomas has made a two-and-a-half year contract offer to Francisco Sandaza that would see him become the highest paid player at the Perth club in a bid to ward off a move for the club’s star player by Rangers.

Butcher extends Golobart loan deal

Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Terry Butcher has extended the loan deal of Wigan Athletic defender Roman Golobart until the end of the season.

McGowan accuses Sproule of over-reaction

Hearts defender Ryan McGowan has accused Hibs winger Ivan Sproule of “making a meal of it “ in his reaction to a clash between the pair during Monday’s Edinburgh Derby.

McGowan refuted the allegation that he headbutted Sproule however Hibs manager Pat Fenlon believes the 22-year-old Australian should have been sent off following the incident.

Juarez to return to Mexico

Celtic defender Efrain Juarez looks set to return to Mexico after being told that he could leave Real Zaragoza where he is currently on loan.

St Johnstone keen to extend Sheridan stay

St Johnstone are in talks with CSKA Sofia over extending the loan period of former Celtic striker Cillian Sheridan and are hopeful of submitting an application to the SFA tomorrow. (Herald)

Bendiksen to leave Ibrox

Thomas Kind Bendiksen has returned to Norway after signing a three year deal with Tromso.

The midfielder had been offered a deal to remain at Ibrox however it is understood the 22-year-old was determined to go home following a spell in Glasgow in which his appearances were limited by injury. (Scotsman)

SPL to rule on Hearts wages delay

The SPL will meet this morning to decide what action to take should they decide to intervene in the Hearts players’ wage dispute.

The Tynecastle club still has still not paid players their salaries for December. (Scotsman)
