Shakhter Karagandy have angered animal rights groups after saying they may sacrifice a sheep in Glasgow.

Boss Viktor Kumykov said the ritual may go ahead before the team’s Champions League play-off second leg tie at Celtic Park tonight. (Scotsman)

• Celtic are keen for revenge against Shakhter after last week’s embarrassment in Kazakhstan, as some of the Glasgow stars feel they have been shown a lack of respect.

Georgios Samaras said: “I don’t remember ever being this angry going into a game.” (Scotsman)

Rangers still want Miller

Ally McCoist has said once more that he would like to bring Kenny Miller back to Rangers for a third time, even though he will be under contract in Vancouver until next summer.

The Ibrox boss wants to add some experience up front, in the hope it rubs off on Nicky Clark. (Various)

• Meanwhile, McCoist was accused of having double standards by the father of sacked striker Francisco Sandaza.

Francisco senior says McCoist has backed under fire player Ian Black, yet showed no loyalty to his son when he was duped by a hoax caller. (Sun)
