CELTIC have had a Hollywood boost for their new ‘tartan’ away strip after ‘24’ actor Kiefer Sutherland was pictured wearing the new top.

Scots actor Ross McCall tweeted a photo of him and Sutherland, who portrays Agent Jack Bauer in the hit series.

McCall, from Port Glasgow, is a big Hoops fan and showed off his own kit - with McCall 24 on the back - along with Sutherland and fellow ‘24’ actor Kim Raver, who plays Audrey Raines in the programme.

The cast are currently in London filming for the new series.

McCall tweeted: “Worn with pride. Causing a stir,” and prompted the official Celtic account to reply “Great to have your support Bhoys.”

The striking new kit features a graphic of the Celtic tartan, reflecting the club’s Scottish heritage, while gold-tinged lines run through the crest to replicate the Celtic cross.

McCall recently told Celtic TV that he was converting as many people as possible to supporting the Hoops.

He revealed: “I have convinced quite a few people across the pond to be Celtic fans - you’d be shocked.

“There have been some big names who I’ve worked with who, the next time they are in Glasgow, I’ll be calling up trying to get tickets so I can make myself look good.

“I have even made the conversion of quite a few people who aren’t interested in football into being Celtic supporters.

Tom Hanks is going our way, I’ve convinced him.

“I’ve told him that when he comes to Glasgow I’ll bring him to Celtic Park because he takes me to see the LA Dodgers.

“He’s got me into the baseball so maybe one day I can show up at Celtic Park with him.”

Kiefer’s apparent allegiance to the Hoops may be at odds with father Donald, who hinted at a fondness for Rangers during an appearance on Craig Ferguson’s chat show in November 2013.
