Celtic have had their fare share of hopefuls over the years, some going on to win Hoops contracts, others vanishing without trace and others popping up elsewhere in Scottish football.
Here’s a look back at a selection of Hoops trialists over the last two-and-a-bit decades...
Former Benfica and Everton youngster who trialled in December 2014. Now at Vendsyssel in Denmark after spells with Vitesse, Stromsgodset, Port Vale and Wigan.
Polish midfielder who came on trial in August 2006, but wasn't offered deal. Has spent entire career in his homeland, and is currently with Bytovia Bytow
Norwegian left-back who trialled in December 2008 after decade with SK Brann. Later moved to Gent and Helsingborgs before finishing career with Brann.
Finnish midfielder handed a chance in January 2005 after two years with Tampere Utd. Went to Orgryte, VPS Vaasa, back to Tampere and finished his career with Ilves in 2012.
Versatile Ghana international who had trial in December 2012 while with Buriram Utd in Thailand. Ended up joining Anderlecht before loan and subsequent move to Tianjin Teda in China.
Came in November 2012 but move didn't happen. Dotted around MLS with NY Red Bulls, Chivas and NE Revolution before spells with Stoke and Utrecht. Now back at Revolution and has 27 goals in 108 games
Bulgarian midfielder who trialled in August 2006 while at Ankaragucu in Turkey. Played for clubs in Bulgaria, Turkey and Russia during 16-year career and was capped 63 times.
German international handed trial in September 2013, but later retired. Played for Aston Villa, Stuttgart, Lazio, West Ham, Wolfsburg and Everton.
Japanese star handed trial in December 2013 but wasn't offered deal. Played for Karlsruher between two spells with Jubilo Iwata, his current club
Midfielder who trialled in January 2002. Played for Real Madrid and RCD Mallorca as a youngster but ended up in the Belgian amateur leagues.
Dutch winger who spent time with both Manchester clubs as a kid and trialled in February 2013. Has played for Swansea, ADO Den Haag, Northampton, Nacional and Estoril.
New Zealand-born striker with U20 caps who had a trial in April 2014. Has spent his whole career to date in his homeland.
French-born midfielder capped 20 times by Algeria who trialled in July 2007. Played for PSG, Marseille, Man City and Southampton. Now manages Algerian national team.
