Chris Sutton tips Grant Holt for Celtic

CHRIS Sutton is hoping Grant Holt would opt for a move to Celtic ahead of Rangers should the Norwich striker be tempted by a move to Scotland.

Holt is reported to be a target for Rangers manager Ally McCoist if Nikica Jelavic leaves Ibrox in the transfer window. However, former Celtic striker Sutton, who is also something of a hero from his time at Norwich, told The Sun: “Holt is an extremely good striker. If Celtic and Rangers are looking to strengthen their squad he could do that. He would be great for Celtic, where I’d rather see him if he wasn’t playing for Norwich.”

McCoist may find himself without funds to make a move for Holt, with the Express reporting that Jelavic’s hopes a move to Liverpool look to have been dashed, but whether Holt would seriously consider a move to the the SPL while he’s enjoying life in England’s top flight as part of Paul Lambert’s high-flying Norwich side is open to question.

Another Rangers target, Enar Jaager, could end up at Leeds United instead – also according to the Express.

The Estonian defender has been on trial at Ibrox, but is also apparently on the radar of Elland Road boss Simon Grayson as Rangers bide their time over offering him a deal.
