Celtic eye up summer move for Ross McCormack

The Hoops reportedly sent a scouting team to watch McCormack as the Cottagers took on Charlton at The Valley earlier this week.

Currently top of the Scottish Premiership, Celtic are already looking to Europe and next season, and with on-loan Manchester City striker John Guidetti reluctant to commit his future one way or the other, it is understood that Ronny Deila is already looking at alternative options.

McCormack, who joined Fulham for £11 million from Leeds in July 2014, has scored 11 goals in 38 appearances for Kit Symons’ side, but they are languishing in 20th place in the Championship with just 44 points from 41 league games.

A striker who can also play on the wing, McCormack began his career at Rangers, but made just a handful of appearances for the first-team squad before joining Motherwell in 2006 after a loan spell at Doncaster.

After two years at Fir Park, he joined Cardiff, scoring 25 goals in 74 appearances.

Leeds took the Scotland striker to Elland Road for around £350,000 in 2010, and he impressed in 154 matches for United, finding the net on 54 occasions.

Celtic have been linked with a number of players as the close season approaches, including Italy Under-20 star Diego de Girolamo.

However, the Hoops look to have missed out on the Chesterfield-born forward, who is set to join Juventus at the end of the season when his contract with Sheffield United runs out.
