Celtic deny interest in Bilbao striker Borja Viguera

CELTIC have denied any interest in Athletic Club striker Borja Viguera.

Sources at Celtic Park rubbished claims that the club were set to approach the Basque club with a loan bid for the 28-year-old striker, according to The Sun newspaper.

Viguera, who has had spells at Real Sociedad and Alaves, has scored just three goal in 28 appearances for Athletic de Bilbao since signing a three-year deal in June 2014.

At Alaves he netted 43 goals in 79 matches between 2012 and 2014.

The likes of Aritz Aduriz and Iñaki Williams have been in fine form up front for Bilbao, limiting Viguera’s first-team opportunities.

But despite reported interest from Celtic, Viguera looks set to stay in Spain, with Eibar and Sporting Gijon supposedly keen on the striker.
